Professor Alan Duffy

Professor Alan Duffy is responsible for facilitating large and ambitious transdisciplinary research across our flagship research areas. Missions have included energy transition technologies, critical minerals, green steel and supply chain decarbonization, created by actively engaging with external organisations (including government, industry, NGOs) to identify large-scale opportunities that require university-wide collaboration and the formation of coalitions of universities and partners.

Alan’s research expertise is in the study of dark matter, space science, and muon technologies. He also has a long-standing interest in science communication with regular segments on national television, radio, as well as live talks, classroom visits and social media.
